Cusco Luxury Tour

Many visitors just pass through Cusco on their way to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Which is a shame, because Peru’s second city was once the flourishing capital of the Inca Empire and is the oldest continually inhabited city in the Western Hemisphere. With it’s architectural and cultural blend of both Inca and Spanish colonial styles it is a truly fascinating place to visit.

Whether it’s wandering among the artisan street-sellers in the narrow cobbled backstreets, catching your breath at the top of one of the many amazing view points around the city, or enjoying the eclectic mix of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles found in the city’s stunning cathedrals, there really is something for everyone. Our day tour of the city is designed at a pace to make you feel you are really absorbing the best of what the city and its surrounding area has to offer.

In the city itself we visit the magnificent Temple of the Sun with its fascinating museum, we will walk through the bustling beauty of the main city square and sp[end time enjoying the serene beauty of Cusco’s spectacular cathedrals. We will also visit San Pedro market with its wonderful mix of food, arts and craft stalls; there will be time here to get a 'taste' of the real Cusco, perhaps sampling some fried Plantain or some Lomo Saltado (a local delicacy).

Our tour takes you further afield too, to some of the lesser known Inca sites. Here you can witness first-hand the architectural feats of this ancient civilisation; like Saqsayhuaman (Puma’s Head), the first city in South America and built in the shape of the revered Puma, signifying where the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins, the Tambomachay Temple where ancient water rituals were performed and Qenqo (meaning Labyrinth) where the Incas paid homage to Pachamama (Mother Earth).

And of course we will have time to walk amongst and talk with the street sellers who peddle their wares all around the city. You will quickly discover that the locals are a warm, friendly people, eager to share their culture and their stories with visitors.

Our tours include all transportation and the services of our expert guides, however, entry tickets for sites that we visit are not included.

We look forward to you joining us and spending the day letting us take you into the very heart of Peru.
